How To Play The Piano ? The Best Way!!

Is there any other educational area where students are taught only in a one-on-one situation, not really?

In essence, this is what classical piano students do. It is very important and monotonous for students who are learning to play the piano to practice everyday, this takes discipline which you do not see in children or parents. Both of these attitudes create artificial limitations for students that hinder their ability to grow and develop musically. Here’s the message piano students need to hear — “Your effort matters and it makes a difference.

However, about a third of parents do too much and try to take over responsibility for their child’s progress, which hinders their child’s ability to develop positive learning skills on their own. To help their children learn and accomplish their goals, parents need to focus on the process and content of the learning rather than the final product. What the young student doesn’t understand is the piano learning process.

Private lessons have good and bad connotation associated with them, sometimes children create a dependence on the teacher and it is hard for children to overcome this and children are not encouraged to develop their own independence when it comes to learning the necessary skills, on the other hand having the one on one teaching is very beneficial to the child because more can get accomplished in a shorter period of time. Plus, there is no point in having your child spend 30 minutes practicing incorrectly without learning their pieces when the material can be mastered in 10 minutes with good practice habits.

Because parents are in charge of their children’s schedule and curriculum, home school students can set their own pace and spend more time on music than in the public or private schools. Music is even more fun when you can share it with others. Young children have the ability to learn music theory and are able to learn concepts on the keyboard as the children grow and develop their musical ear.

If your children know their alphabet and how to identify numbers and count, they’re old enough to start learning music theory. With the rise of the internet more adults have learned that taking piano lesson does not have be taught in classrooms or studios it can be taught over the internet, this helps with today’s busy schedules and adults do not have to be locked into a schedule.

Well, you might find this hard to believe, but encouraging your child taking piano lessons to practice doesn’t have to be a struggle. They do want to be sure, however, that their young child is old enough to benefit from formal musical training.

One of the choices that parents have when their child is beginning piano lessons is whether to enroll their son or daughter in a private or group lesson. Over time this will make sitting down at the piano to practice feel more natural to your young child or your older beginner and make learning easier. Establish a routine practice time.

Set meaningful goals that will last, focus on the “What” and the “Why. Writing down the goals and dreams that first motivated you to give your child the gift of piano lessons provides a reminder that will keep your energy focused over the long term.

5 Best Ways To Learn To Play Piano

Thinking about learning to play the piano. Here are the top 5 best ways to learn to play piano:

1) Learn From A Teacher

One of the 5 best ways to learn to play piano is to learn from an experienced teacher. A teacher is of sorts, a live database of highly trained skills. So having access to one is more than appropriate, it’s a gift! Of course the better the teacher — the better your skills. So one of your first tasks in learning piano is to find a *good* teacher. We recommend learning from a teacher who has a degree in music and who regularly performs somewhere. The degree will ensure that you’re being taught the basics, and the regular performances will ensure that your teacher practices what she preaches! After all, it’s one thing to “say” what we should do, but it’s an entirely different thing to actually “do” what we should do. A teacher who plays the piano on a regular basis therefore continues to learn, and the lessons that she learns will be passed on to you.

2) Learn From Piano Software Lessons

Piano software lessons are unique tools that hook up to a MIDI Digital keyboard/piano, and they give feedback during play. If you make a mistake, the software will let you know so that you correct it. This feedback makes these tools invaluable but not 100% effective. Some people claim that these tools are as effective as teachers, but their emotional-less qualities make comparing piano software lessons to physical tutors a bit far-fetched. Learning from this resource *will* teach you how to play and is great for busy people but don’t stop here. Using software without some form of follow-up with a teacher will only teach you to play like a machine instead of a human!

3) Learn From Multimedia Books and Videos

Multimedia books and videos are appropriate alternatives for those who keep unusual schedules or who live in remote areas. Being multimedia, these resources exist on the Internet and they can be accessed any time of the day. Some of these tools can be downloaded and accessed from your own computer, while other tools are accessible on the web. To get full use, you’ll need a computer system that’s up-to-date, equipped with a DSL Internet connection, and capable of displaying uninterrupted streaming data. There’s nothing more aggravating than trying to learn from a video that repeatedly starts and stops.

4) Learn From Playing Piano By Ear

Many accomplished piano players learned to play by ear and some have never swayed from it. We contend that playing by ear serves as an easy introduction to the piano. But it’s an introduction that should lead to reading sheet music — a skill that every pianist should have. After learning from both approaches, you’ll find that they’re seemingly inseparable. A large part of playing music after all, depends heavily on listening skills. Learning to play piano by ear first will thus refine your listening skills and eventually make reading sheet music a lot easier.

5) Learn From Chord-Based Piano Lessons

As one of the fastest ways to learn to play piano, chord-based piano lessons provide quick access to what could several months to learn. Bear in mind that chord-based piano lessons will teach you how to create accompaniment — not melodies.

Piano Lessons For Beginners – What’s Best?

If you are a real newbie at learning piano then you’re going to need some proper piano lessons for beginners. Think twice about getting a human piano teachers because there could be all sorts of problems that you might not have thought of.

1. Not all piano teachers can teach. For generations, people who have learned piano as a child and have become reasonably adept at it have turned to teaching piano as a way of earning a living. And it’s a perfectly decent occupation of course. If you’re fortunate enough to find a good piano teacher for your lessons then good for you. For, the unfortunate fact is that there are many people out there, who, no matter how good they are at playing piano, are just not good teachers. Being able to impart information in an effective and memorable way is a skill that has to be learned, and may piano teachers seem to focus on the technicalities of piano playing to the exclusion of the educational aspect. The result is that you might have a piano lesson every week for years and still feel you haven?t learned very much at the end of it all.

2. You might find your teacher difficult to get on with (or they might find you difficult instead). Everybody is different and I?m sure you?ve had the experience where you take an instant dislike to someone, even if you can?t put your finger on the actual reason. Such a thing occurred to me a while back when I booked a course of lessons with a guy that a friend had mentioned was particularly good. I was told that he was knowledgeable, friendly and polite. He arrived ans was just as described but I’m afraid from day one, I just found it difficult to get on with him. I just didn?t like his manner and couldn?t get on with him at all. Of course, an extreme example like this doesn’t occur very often, but if anything like it does happen, it’s likely to interfere with your learning. It?s just something to think about, that?s all.

3. Real live piano teachers don?t come cheap. It depends where you live of course but you?ll probably find that most piano lessons for beginners come in at between and per hour. If you?re learning piano from scratch then the likelihood is that you?ll need at least one piano lesson per week for a year. It soon adds up, I can tell you. You might end up spending two or three thousand dollars on employing a piano teacher before you know it. It?s as well to be aware of this commitment before you start because it?s not always easy to get rid of teachers once they start teaching you. They?ll tell you that you need a few more lessons, then a few more, then a few more. You don’t think you should stop because they’re the professional and you’re the beginner.

You might think that I’m a bit prejudiced against humans for piano lessons – not at all. Many piano teachers provide a first class service at a reasonable price, but they?re not always easy to find. In reality piano lessons for beginners aren’t very complicated. If you’re a beginner then you need something simple and straightforward – you don’t want a piano teacher breathing down your neck.

How to Make the Best Use of Free Online Piano Lessons

It’s understandable that plenty of people are distrustful of products and services offered for free. They insist that you’re in for a trick when it’s free. When you’re given to chance to sign up for free online piano lessons, do you immediately think that these are low quality courses? Or you would initially suppose that there are fees that would be disclosed later. A frequent concern is that vicious malware could transfer to your machine after the program is installed.

You’d heave a sigh of relief in knowing that as far as free online piano lessons are concerned, these worries should not be entertained. These courses are the cheapest, most serviceable, and simplest process of knowing how to play the piano.

A computer and an internet connection are all you need to begin. The learning methods that have been around for years – music school and private tutorials – are needlessly expensive. The benefit of online lessons is that they can be taken at home.

These free online piano lessons would be a terrific way for you to know whether you can sustain your motivation. Wanting to end lessons would be met with no clarifications necessary. Best of all, you haven’t paid a cent.

However, if you decide to pursue the art of playing the piano because you really do feel the passion for it, you may opt to sign up for advanced lessons that require you to pay a small fee. At the end of these free online piano lessons, expect to have a firm grasp of the basics. It wouldn’t take you a long time to be able to call the notes, learn the chords, and play your favorite songs. There is a varied line of software programs to choose from.

You have the freedom to know where your training would be focused on; you might be happy with being able to play your most beloved childhood tunes; or you can opt to be able to read music at the outset. Are you one to be more concerned about scales and chords? Whichever type you are, you are certain to reach your goal and probably more in the process.

As soon as you sign up for these lessons, you will be following a set of instructions to assist you in downloading the program and using it properly. You will be able to utilize the most advanced learning tools available and with perseverance, you’ll learn to play the piano in no time.

With your newly developed talent, you can be a sensation as you perform in front of your family and friends at the next bash. It’s certain that you will pick up a lot of encouragement at your soiree; they might even not believe it when you tell them that an internet course taught you.

Get the Best Piano Teacher For Your Child

As a parent you always want to have the best for your kid, even in matters where you have decided to let him/her take piano lessons. If your child is motivated to take piano lessons or you have made the decision in letting them take proper piano lessons, it is a must to choose a credible piano instructor. You may have few or many options depending on your location. If you are in the city, then more likely, you can easily find an instructor.

You must make sure that the instructor you have chosen is a qualified one. The following are some guidelines to know if you have found a good piano teacher for your kid:

Interview – The initial step of getting to know if a person has potentials is through interview. Select among the referral of your friends and make a schedule for interview on everyone that you have picked. If they don’t want to get interviewed or they are giving you charges for it, keep looking for more interested piano instructors. By conducting an interview, you can get to know many important details like:

Personality – It is vital to consider the personality of the teacher. You must see to it that he/she is easy to get along with, that your child will feel relaxed or at ease with him/her. Let the teacher and your kid meet and see if they go along well together. If their personalities collide, then your child won’t learn the most during the lessons.

Experience – When your child advances to the next level, you may find a need to search again for a different tutor. A few maybe credible in teaching the basics, but they are not qualified in teaching more complex lessons and skills. You must see to it that the one you will hire has a background on the basics in every level. Be wise enough to decide on things, or you will end up wasting your money to an ineffective tutor.

Method – There are various methods of teaching that will provide your kid the knowledge that they need in piano playing. Some are quite effective while some are not. As a parent, you know your child very well. And therefore, it is your responsibility to ask the teacher if what type of method she uses in imparting his/her skills. So that he/she will have the idea if she will use the book often or more on hands-on exercises. Does your child need visual stimulation like colored drawings or pictures? These are things you need to consider. And it is important to recognize if the piano teacher will be able to cater your kid’s learning skills.

Technique – The method is the control the teacher uses while technique is how he/she moves toward the method and adapt it to every kid. Is he/she enduring and flexible? We all know that kids get bored and upset easily. It is prime to consider that he/she is aware of the necessity of breaks and motivation.

A piano tutor who is aware that the lessons should include games for it to be fun and enjoyable is suited to teach your kids. The children will surely love attending the class.

Why Piano Lesson Dvds Work Best

Piano lesson DVDs are fun, flexible, stress-free learning aides that are taught by acclaimed instructors and have great residual value. If you are looking for a prudent investment that will reap life-long rewards, a good piano lesson DVD is your answer.

Being able to play right away is a big selling point for these DVD courses. The student can study as often or as little as they choose. Each package contains well structured lessons that enable the student to go from beginner to expert in an organized manner. Along the way, the student can rehearse as often and as long as they want. Best yet, after the initial purchase price, lessons are free!

One of the great advantages to studying with “learn piano” DVDs is the interactive monitoring system that evaluates strengths and weaknesses. After completing a lesson, the software will analyze the progress and issue a report complete with strengths and areas that need more work. The student can practice and re-work the material as many times as needed before moving on. Or, the student can move on and return to the lesson at a later time.

Whenever the student feels like playing, the Piano Lesson DVDs will always be there, ready. Anytime of day or night, your teacher is a click away. And, what great teachers they are! Famous piano players give you great instruction on these DVDs. They will teach the student to play all types of music, including the standards, swing, classics and contemporary tunes. Rarely does instruction include such a wide breadth of opportunity. There are few things as entertaining as playing along with a popular song.

Learn Piano DVDs offer opportunities for the beginner to learn, for an experienced player to refresh their skills and for children to study or compliment their school instruction. In fact, many schools use the DVDs to assist teachers with their classes. Students will learn how to read music and become oriented with the keyboard and pedals.

Programs specifically designed for children excite the young players. Using colorful notes and animation, youthful songs can be learned quickly and easily. Instead of dreading classes with a piano teacher, children look forward to their time with the piano and their DVDs. Many Piano Lesson DVDs provide fun games that keep the kids coming back for more. By the time your child is finished, they will have a musical ear and understand the importance of each key.

Most people want to learn piano as fast and as soon as possible. With the instructional DVDs, students begin to play at once. This is hands-on instruction and practice at its best.

Most of the DVDs come with free on-line support and there are even member web sites where students can interact with other students.

With Piano Lesson DVDs, students of all levels will thrive on the terrific music, the quick hands-on experience and the step-by-step elevation of the skill level. This is a package that yields years of enjoyment and a lifetime of potential.

The Best Way To Learn The Piano

Even if you don’t want to learn how to play classical music on the piano, you can still learn other genres of music. In fact, jazz piano lessons are becoming very popular.

However, it is perfectly possible to acquire lessons in specific genres of music. For example, jazz piano lessons are becoming increasingly popular.

Jazz is a form of music that has its origins in blues, but draws on almost every other genre of music. If you wish to begin learning how to play jazz on the piano, it is a good idea to start with early swing and, importantly, learn how to improvise, as this is one of the most fundamental skills used by jazz musicians.

Below you will find some hints and tips to help you improve your jazz playing skills.

Listen to as much jazz as you can get your hands on. The very best thing you can do is spend time listening to the masters you wish to emulate. If possible, listen to old and new styles of jazz.

Once you have mastered the very basics of music theory, ensure that you are familiar with all twelve major scales; this will prove very useful when it comes to improvisation.

Buy some sheet music. As mentioned above, if you are just starting to dabble in jazz, purchase some of the old ‘swing’ greats, such as Gershwin or Porter.

Next, you will need to master the major 7th, minor 7th, dominant 7th, half diminished and diminished chords of every key. This could be tricky if you are unfamiliar with the basics of music, but you should be able to master this stage within a week or two.

Once you are happy with these chords, take your sheet music and begin playing. Use your left hand to play the melody and the right hand to play the chords. If you select a songbook with guitar chords, recognizing and playing the chords may be easier. Practice until this feels comfortable and, more importantly, sounds good.

Then, you will need to get back to the less fun stuff – learning chord inversions. For example, CM7 (C major 7th) could be played like so: C,E,G and B or E,G,B and C or G,B,C and E and finally B,C,E and G. There are four possible positions for every chord. Do not attempt to learn inversions until you are completely comfortable with the standard method of playing chords, because you will confuse yourself.

If you want to learn to improvise, begin by learning the pentatonic scale for your preferred key. Then, take a favorite song and mix it up by taking a few notes out and adding some from the pentatonic scale. Next, try mastering the blues scale and again add and remove notes from the original score.

These tips will help you master the basics of jazz piano lessons and ensure that you are able to begin playing and having fun with your music.
